Transitions
Music by Debussy
This piece by Rose Hale is a sequence of projections that reflect on the life cycles in the natural world, as well as exploring the profound effects that this has on us and how the transitions can stir emotions within ourselves.
The series by the artist is shown as a continuous loop of slides accompanied by sound. The artist wants to witness how the work can effect an audience by both the visuals and the sounds heard.

Additional imagery
I have been looking through all my work and here are some extra examples of images that I may use for the sequence.
Slide sequence (second section)
Ideas for second part of my sequence - I think I may use the other ocean imagery, such as 'Cascade' as it is more striking.
Slide sequence ideas (first section)
I need to make sure the slides - especially the first few - are dramatic and eye-catching enough as starting pieces. Also if they will work successfully as projection pieces. I will soon add the music once I have decided on the final sequence of slides.

Collections - Animals
I have decided to focus on different collections from my work in the sequence.
I want to show a spectrum of my work - all the aspects that I have been working on, e.g. organisms, natural elements, insects, magic realism, narratives etc.
One collection is the animal slides I want to use, I want to use them in the piece 'Transitions' so that I can portray the aspects of a life cycle - both as natural changes as well as in an emotional sense and the effects and associations that accompany different stages. My cat Freddie will be included in the sequence - he died when he was young and his life cycle barely got started. I want to include him to show the vibrant stage of life but also a view of it in it's decline, I remember as we lost him very clearly. I want to immortalise him in my work as well as show his place in the life cycles.
I also have different images of animals that I intend to include in the sequence; to me, animals represent the very vibrant and prosperous part of the life cycle. An animal reaching adulthood in the wild is a lucky one, especially after it has produced offspring. I want to use animals throughout the sequence as they show an obvious life cycle that can be easily interpreted, I feel.

Working on the slides
Working on creating a sequence for projection. The images will be projected using the house projector onto the back-wall of the stage in the theatre.
I want to portray the changes within a life cycle, to show the transition through the different stages.
I have also found a piece of music I may be using: Debussy; Syrinx.
Here are some examples of the pieces I have been working on:
